Junk Removal Cleveland

Junk Removal in Cleveland

The City of Cleveland collects bulk trash one week a month, three items per home, and only once they’re wrapped, drained and dragged to the tree lawn. The typical house here dates to 1941, so most of what people want gone is sitting in a basement or up the back stairs of a double. Send a photo, get one flat price, and a crew carries it out any week you choose: a sofa is $126, a refrigerator $164.

We cover all of Cuyahoga County plus the ring around it — Lorain and Avon to the west, Mentor and Chardon to the east, Medina, Strongsville and Hudson to the south.

✓Insured, vetted haulers
✓Same-day when a crew is free
✓Flat photo-quoted pricing
✓No hidden charges
✓COI support
✓Donation and recycling
✓Basements & stairs included

Cleveland Junk Removal Prices

Every item has a fixed Cleveland price. The walk up from the basement, the upper unit’s rear staircase and the trip to the transfer station are already inside it.

Below are the pieces we’re asked about most. The quote page carries the complete list.

Cleveland Price List

Item / loadPrice
Sofa / Couch$126
Recliner$98
Queen Mattress$103
Box Spring$92
Refrigerator$164
Washer$133
TV (42–65")$68
Tires (set of 4)$87
Truck-Fill (1/4 · 4 cu yd)$241
Truck-Fill (Full · 16 cu yd)$732
Minimum order: $100. The whole number is on screen before a truck is booked — no hidden fees.

What the Price Covers

  • Two-person crew and loading
  • Basement, attic and third-floor stairs
  • Back staircases on up-and-down doubles
  • No plastic wrapping or duct tape needed
  • Transfer-station and landfill charges
  • Donation and recycling drop-offs

Big Jobs Go by the Truckload

A full basement or a packed garage is easier to price by volume. The truck holds sixteen cubic yards: $241 buys a quarter, $431 half and $732 all of it. Each quote is calculated both ways — item by item and by volume — and you’re charged the lower total.

Take one photo from the bottom of the basement stairs — the price comes back before you reach the top.

How a Cleveland Pickup Works

1

1. Photograph it

A single armchair or a whole basement of stored furniture — each piece is identified and priced from the Cleveland list.

2

2. Choose the day

Fix anything the photo missed and pick a slot this week, whether or not it’s the City’s bulk week.

3

3. Carried out, sorted

An insured local crew brings everything up and out, then routes it to donation, a recycler or a licensed disposal site.

JunkRabbit Services Around Cleveland

Each service page has Cleveland prices, the local set-out rules that apply and the questions people ask:

Built for Cleveland Houses

A Tremont workers’ cottage, an Old Brooklyn double, a Cleveland Heights Tudor and a Parma bungalow each call for a different plan. Our crews handle all four.

Deep, Old Basements

Ten core Cleveland ZIP codes have a median build year of 1939 or earlier. Under nearly every one of those houses is a basement full of the last owner’s storage.

The carry up is part of the price. Parma basements →

Up-and-Down Doubles

About 14.5% of Cleveland homes sit in two-unit buildings, and the upper tenant usually gets a narrow rear staircase. That’s the stair we use.

Detroit-Shoreway doubles →

Three-Story Heights Homes

Tudor Revival houses in the Heights and Van Sweringen-era homes in Shaker have third floors, servants’ stairs and deep basements — estate work that starts at the top.

Cleveland Heights estates →

Lofts and Towers

Warehouse District lofts and University Circle apartment buildings bring freight elevators, loading docks and requests for insurance certificates.

Downtown move-outs →

Bulk Week vs. Calling a Hauler

Cleveland’s Division of Waste Collection publishes its bulk rules plainly, and they’re worth knowing before you book anybody.

Three Items, One Week

Up to three bulk items per home go out on your regular collection day during the first full week of each month. The other weeks, nothing bulky is picked up.

Wrapped and Drained

Mattresses and cloth furniture have to be wrapped in plastic. Appliances must be drained of coolants and fluids before the crew will take them.

No Remodel Debris

Construction, renovation and demolition waste isn’t collected at all, and electronics go to a drop-off site rather than the curb.

Residents’ Drop-Off

City residents can haul up to four cubic yards per visit to the Ridge Road Transfer Station themselves, Monday through Saturday, 9 to 3.

The suburbs each set their own rules. Lakewood, Parma and Euclid want mattresses and upholstered pieces sealed in plastic, Cleveland Heights won’t take move-outs or clean-outs, and Shaker Heights collects bulk only by request, three items at a time. If you have one chair, it’s the first week of the month and you can carry it to the tree lawn, the City program is the cheaper choice. If it’s in the basement, it’s remodel debris, or it can’t wait three weeks, that’s where we come in.

Pickups Through Snow Belt Winters

Lake-effect snow starts in mid-November and keeps coming until the lake freezes over, usually late January or early February. The east side and Geauga County catch the most of it.

What Keeps Us Busy Here

  • Whole-basement cleanouts
  • Upper-unit double move-outs
  • Estate work in the Heights
  • Remodel debris the cities won’t collect
  • Case Western and Cleveland State move-outs
  • Dead fridges, freezers and washers
i
Chardon averages 107 inches of snow a season, more than any other Ohio city. Winter jobs out there get booked a few days ahead so the crew can plan around the driveway and the forecast.

Sorted, Not Dumped

Furniture that can be reused is set aside for donation. Fridges and freezers go to refrigerant recovery, and TVs go to electronics recyclers.

Sorting adds nothing to the bill.

The Spring-Thaw Purge

April through June is basement season, when a winter’s worth of storage comes back up the stairs. Book early for those weeks.

Why Clevelanders Choose JunkRabbit

Priced Before Anyone Drives

The figure comes from your photo, not from a crew sizing up the pile in your driveway.

Any Week of the Month

No waiting for the first full week. Pick the day that suits the move, the closing or the renovation.

No Three-Item Limit

One recliner or a whole house — the truck keeps loading, and extra trucks come if the job needs them.

Skip the Plastic

Mattresses and couches leave the way they are. There’s nothing to bag, seal or tape.

Insured Crews

Vetted, insured haulers, and a certificate of insurance for any building that asks.

Cleveland Junk Removal FAQs

How much does junk removal cost in Cleveland?

It’s priced from your photo. A sofa is $126, a queen mattress $103, a refrigerator $164 and a mid-size TV $68. Bigger jobs run from $241 for a quarter truck to $732 for a full load, with a $100 minimum.

Why hire someone when the City takes three bulk items?

If it’s one or two pieces, it’s the first full week of the month and you can get them to the tree lawn wrapped and ready, the City is the better deal. People call us for everything past that: more than three items, anything still in the basement, remodel debris, or a deadline that won’t wait.

Do I need to wrap my mattress in plastic first?

Not for us. The plastic rule is for curbside set-outs in Cleveland and several suburbs; our crew carries the mattress out as it is.

Will you bring things up from the basement or down from an upper unit?

Yes. Basement stairs, attic stairs and the rear staircase of a double are all included in the flat price.

Do you work through Snow Belt winters?

Yes. Winter pickups run all season; let us know about unplowed driveways or parking bans when you book.

Which suburbs do you cover?

All of Cuyahoga County, most of Lake, Geauga, Lorain and Medina counties, and northern Summit and western Portage — out to Painesville, Elyria, Medina, Hudson and Stow.

Ready to Clear the Basement?

Send a photo and see the flat price in seconds — from $100, from Lorain to Chardon and the lakefront to Hudson.

No waiting for bulk week, no three-item limit, nothing to wrap or drag to the tree lawn.
